Publish with StoneGate
Traditional Publishing
A partnership begins with a manuscript.
You have put something of yourself on the page. We would like to know what you have written.
StoneGate considers manuscripts for publication through our publishing program and imprints. We select work that fits our editorial interests and develop accepted books under a publishing agreement.
How the partnership works
You bring the manuscript.
We consider its publishing future.
Editorial selection
Publication begins with a review of your submission and its fit with StoneGate. Sending a manuscript does not guarantee an offer.
Publisher-funded costs
For an accepted book, StoneGate covers the publication costs agreed in the publishing agreement. Authors are not charged mandatory publishing fees.
Royalties for authors
Authors receive royalties under their publishing agreement. StoneGate's traditional program does not offer advances.
Submissions stand on their own. You do not need to buy editing, design, or other services to be considered or accepted into our traditional publishing program.
From first introduction to next steps
Start by sharing your work.
Read the guidelines
Check our current editorial interests, submission materials, and instructions before you begin. The guidelines explain how to create an author account and submit your work.
Send your submission
Introduce your book, its intended readers, and yourself. Follow the submission process with the materials requested in the guidelines.
Discuss an offer, if selected
If we offer publication, review the proposed agreement together. Rights, royalties, responsibilities, and the publication plan are addressed before the publishing relationship begins.
Finding the right home
Every imprint has a point of view.
Explore our imprints and books to get a sense of StoneGate's publishing interests. Use the current submission guidelines to decide whether your manuscript is ready to send.
